In November of 2007, our two young children were hit with a nasty stomach bug. Our pediatrician recommended that we add the B.R.A.T. Diet foods (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast) and most importantly we keep them hydrated with non-sugary drinks. Unfortunately, we could not get our children to eat or drink anything, and they really did not like any of the hydration drinks we could find in the stores. Both of our children wanted something soothing and “milk-like”, but the problem was that dairy seemed to make their symptoms much worse. Worried that they may become dehydrated quickly, we found we had suddenly stumbled on our “aha” moment.
We realized that we might be able to make a “milk-like” hydration drink using some of the B.R.A.T. Diet foods ( Rice, Banana & Apple puree) which would satisfy our children’s desires for comfort, while also adding electrolytes and vitamins for hydration and nourishment. We began working with Pediatricians and Food Scientists to develop a non-dairy drink packed with nutrients and electrolytes and the amazing result is B.R.A.T. feel better drinks.
We now have 4 little ones and are happy to be creating the B.R.A.T. feel better drinks for you and your family too.
